Panel
2: Hey, Dad.
Panel 3: I have a question. Mrs Davis
says people used to be monkeys...
...but Anna's mom says that God made us. Who is right?
Panel 5: Neither.
Panel 6: Not according to Chinese legend,
anyways.
Panel 7: You see, everything started
as darkness and Chaos...
Page 2
Panel 1: ...and in the darkness, an egg
appeared.
Panel 2: Inside it, the ancient creature,
Pangu, slept and grew.
Panel 3: He grew gigantic, and one day
he stretched out, breaking the egg.
Panel 4: The light parts floated upwards
to become Yang, the heavens.
And the heavy parts settled down to become Yin, the Earth.
Panel 5: Pangu was afraid that Heaven
and Earth might meld back together...
Panel 6: ...so he stood between them,
and supported heaven with his head.
Panel 7: After 18,000 years, he grew
tired and he died.
Panel 8: Some say he even exploded!
Page 3
Panel 1: After that, his breath turned
into the winds...
Panel 2: His voice became thunder...
Panel 3: His eyes changed into the Sun
and the Moon...
Panel 4: His blood filled the rivers,
lakes and oceans...
Panel 5: His bones broke down into precious
stones and minerals...
Panel 6: His hair grew to be trees and
other plants...
Panel 7: His sweat became the rain...
Panel 8: ...and his fleas - his fleas
became us.
Fleas? Like a bug?!

Panel 1: That's right, you see, in Chinese
philosophy, everything has a spirit:
The mountains, the sky, the trees, and the clouds.
Nature is seen as beautiful, grand, and important...
...whereas we humans are quite insignificant, like fleas.
Panel 2: I'm not insinifant.
Of course not. You're very special.
Uh oh... I think I see your bug antennas poking out...
Panel 3: Let me rip them out for you!
Panel 4: AHHHH!!
