This coming Wednesday, May 5th, a story of mine, entitled “Tobb, The Sling!”, will run on MySpace Dark Horse Presents! This will be the first professional work of mine that is entirely of my own creation, including the story. I don’t usually fancy myself much of a writer, but I was given to opportunity to do an 8-page all-ages story, and it sounded like fun, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
I had the Discovery Channel going on the TV when I was trying to come up with a story idea, and a nature show came on that had a short segment on earth’s largest rodent, the capybara. That was the starting point. I thought it would be awesome to draw a capybara, and continued thinking of what else I wanted to draw with it. And so, I came up with a story about a plucky kid adventurer and his giant riding capybara. It’s a little bit of a Zelda-like fantasy adventure, and a little bit of a fantasy adventure spoof. I had tons of fun working on it, and I hope readers will find it fun, too!
